Spring Break 2021 – Things To Do in Banff
Recently we marked a year since the World Health Organization officially declared COVID-19 a global pandemic. Shortly after, Canada closed its borders.
One year later, we’re still in a pandemic, with different provincial health advisories regarding travel. And the US-Canadian border remains closed. Most of us have been holding our breath (both figuratively and literally), wondering if we should or shouldn’t book Spring Break 2021 travel. Seriously! What are you going to do with the kid’s home from school (again) over Spring Break?
Travel During Covid
First, clearly you should follow the travel recommendations of your Provincial Health Officer. If you cannot travel, stay close to home. Experience your own backyard via local day trips or a staycation.
ALL Safe – If you do choose to travel, feel confident that Fairmont has implemented ALL Safe. This means “keeping our guests and colleagues safe by preventing the spread of COVID-19 – partnering with top experts to implement new standards of safety and enhanced operational protocols and procedures which are among the most stringent in the hospitality industry.” See our ALL Safe and Well Initiative, click here
Spring Break 2021 in Banff
Stay at Fairmont Banff Springs – For a family getaway we recommend booking the Take Your Time Package. Guests can save up to 30% on a 5 night Stay. Perfect for a Spring Break Getaway
Good for the Kids:
SkiBig3 – Skiing, Snowboarding, Lessons, Camps or Tubing, it’s time to hit the slopes. There’s no better way to get fresh air, enjoy wide-open spaces and burn off some of the crazy kid energy (so you can chill in the evening in peace!)
Vermillion Skating Rink – situated outside the Rundle Lounge and Vermillion Room, the rink is ideal for the kids (with or without parents on the ice.) Parents not wishing to skate with the kids are welcome to order cocktails (or hot chocolate) from either the Rundle or the Vermillion, to-go, as there is a perfect patio space next to the rink.
Good for You:
Fairmont Spa Banff Springs. That’s right SPA TIME. Treat yourself with some pampering, a massage, facial, mani/pedi, or other treatment. After all Spring break is as much about you as it is about the kids.
Good for the Family:
Everything!!! There is so much to do in Banff, from all the outdoor activities to exploring the town of Banff or enjoying the Castle’s treasure hunt. But our secret tip – March is a great time to catch the northern lights in Banff National Park. Check out Aurora Watch by the University of Alberta for daily alerts. And remember to look north after dark, find a space away from town, with a clear view of the horizon. And finally bundle up, it cold and you could be out for a while.
