Most hiking trails in Banff National Park welcome dogs, and Lake Louise is no exception. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times when visiting Lake Louise. For a fun-filled day with your four-legged friend, we suggest the following hikes:

- Fairview Lookout
- Bow River Loop
- Louise Creek
- Lake Agnes
- Plain of Six Glaciers
- Moraine Lake Lakeshore
- Consolation Lakes
- Lake Annette

- Larch Valley / Minnestimma Lakes
Dogs are allowed on all trails unless otherwise specified in trail restrictions and closures. Check Parks Canada to see if there are pet restrictions on trails due to wildlife or natural hazards.

Lake Walkies
Recommended for smaller dogs
A walk around Lake Louise or Lake Moraine with your four-legged friend in spring or summer will be a walk you’ll both remember! Pets are allowed to visit Lake Moraine aboard the Parks Canada shuttle free of charge if they are kept in a secure and clean transport carrier that is small enough to fit on the owner’s lap. Dog-Friendly hiking Trails
Recommended for medium & large dogs
There are plenty of new sights and smells for your dog to soak in on one of several hiking trails at Lake Louise. A hike to the Lake Agnes Tea House is a wonderful walk for medium and larger energetic dogs. All dogs must be kept on-leash for their safety, and the safety of our wild locals.

The closest veterinary services are located in Banff (60 km by car) and Canmore (84 km by car). The full service clinic at Canmore Veterinary Hospital offers surgeries, wellness exams, dental, lab, grooming and pet food and nutritional consults.
